Ο Xuxian Jiang του NC State University ,εντοπισε ενα κενο ασφαλειας στο android gingerbread 2.3 , το οποιο μπορει να δωσει προσβαση σε εναν επιτιθεμενο στα δεδομενα ενος χρηστη android.Παρομοιο κενο ασφαλειας υπηρχε και στις προηγουμενες εκδοσεις android το οποιο η google νομιζε οτι ειχε διορθωσει.Ουσιαστικα ενα κακοβουλο web site θα μπορουσε να διαβασει τα περιεχομενα που υπαρχουν στην sd card ειτε να κανει upload καποιο αρχειο (πχ photo ,banking data) που ειναι αποθηκευμενο στην sd card.Ωστοσο μπορουμε να προστατευθουμε κανοντας disable την sd card ειτε εγκαθιστοντας καποιον third-party browser απο το market οπως ο firefox / opera.
