Anyway, το πρόβλημα λύθηκε, με τη δημιουργία ενός service για το φακό, το οποίο εκκινείται/σταματά από την κύρια activity, η οποία δεν εμφανίζει UI.
Υπάρχει βέβαια το πρόβλημα ότι το σύστημα τερματίζει την υπηρεσία πολύ εύκολα, το οποίο ενδεχομένως έχει λυθεί με τη χρήση της μεθόδου startForeground.
Αν κάποιος γνωρίζει κάποια καλύτερη λύση ας με διαφωτίσει.
Επισής υπάρχει ένα ακόμη μικρό ενοχλητικό πρόβλημα. Όταν τρέχει η εφαρμογή, και για μερικά δευτερόλεπτα ώσπου να κλείσει, εξαφανίζονται τα widgets και φαίνεται μόνο η ταπετσαρία. Υπάρχει κάποιος τρόπος να μη γίνεται αυτό?

καλημέρα και από μένα,
Καθυστερημένη μάλλον η απάντηση αλλά .... θα σου πρότεινα να σηκώνει ένα activity κυριολεκτικά για τα μάτια του κόσμου
με ένα progress bar μέχρι να ανάψει το φλάς και στη συνέχεια να το κλείνεις. Ενδεχομένως να φαινόταν μόνο ένα "starting flashlight..."
ίσα ίσα για να μην φαίνεται αυτό το κενό μέχρι τη στιγμή εκκίνησης του service.
Μετά μπορείς να το κάνεις finish().
Ελπίζω να βοήθησα.
